Well they weren't voted in by me. They're taking time that those people probably don't have to sit around talking about whether or not they should sacrifice human lives. That is never a debate that needs to be had.
That might be true. But there are just as many scenarios where it isn't.
I was once on a mission where Russia had sent a ship to Santiago-de-Cuba with intention for it to deviate and enter American waters near Cape Caneveral. There was an altercation, Russia claimed the ship was operating outside its jurisdiction and left everyone to their fates. Any evidence to the contrary was destroyed before they were captured.
